Appealing to the more discerning after-work and late night San Francisco crowd, HARLOT provides a unique social experience in an ostentatious modern-Goth setting unequaled in the City.
The name Harlot is a nod to the City's history, specifically Minna Street where she is located.
Best experienced in person, once you enter you immediately feel Harlots powerful seduction as you pass by the immense black rock wall the space unfolds into soaring 16-foot high ceilings with dark modern textures and a variety of elaborate detail, a visual treat that transforms your mood in a breath and a heartbeat. Located in a former 1920s printing press brick warehouse building, elements of the original structure have been revealed and are likewise celebrated. The original Carnegie riveted steel columns are up-lit as they march down the center of the grand lofted space, leading to the elevated DJ altar at the back of the space. The DJ is highlighted by a halo of programmable lighting at the edges of the back wall which features an original large scale painting tilted Matthews Heroine, a hauntingly beautiful creation of Bay Area artist Tiffany Bozic. The unique and evocative artwork was selected as a counterpoint to the monochromatic textured palette of the space and includes and original lithograph by Camille Rose Garcia in the upstairs mezzanine, two large painting by Manny Fabregas, and in-situ art by Peter Ray.
Bespoke alligator-print leather banquette seating is arranged for intimate group conversation that allows guests to kick back and relax and take in the views of the bar and dance area. Generous cocktail tables imprinted with provocative images of woman by photo artist Merkley are abundant and give the lounge a rock-chic feel playing off the black on black tones and the raw iron columns and beams. The 24 foot long black quartz stone bar on the main floor is adorned with haired hide and the majestic black lacquered antler chandeliers were hand crafted by artisans in Poland.
Harlots ultra exclusive VIP area is up on mezzanine that floats above the black lounge. Like heavenly floating cloud, the VIP space is pristine and white with a warm conversation put around a modern gas fireplace. The edge of balcony has a glass and steel guardrail for unobstructed views of the area below. Uniquely situated, Harlots floating VIP area has the ability to offer amenities rarely, if ever, seen in a lounge, including a separate entrance, airtight security, full inclusion in the party below with its own bar, and a private restroom.
